Developmental Edit
My Developmental edits specifically focus on elevating the book’s concept to truly shine as one of a kind to agents, readers, and publishers.
For Fiction, the edit includes:
A 6-14 page editorial letter addressing plot, characters, worldbuilding, pacing, voice, genre, themes, and story structure, with suggestions and ideas on HOW to fix things (rather than simply pointing out what’s wrong).
An editing e-workbook that tracks with the editorial letter to help explain and implement concepts (something my clients seem to find helpful).
An hour zoom call (if desired) once everything’s sent back to you to help with brainstorming, ask questions, clarify, etc.
For Non-fiction, the edit includes:
In-manuscript comments and development-focused edits throughout the document. These address the book's overall organization, chapter structures, information presented, style of presentation, author voice, readability, and key takeaways.
An hour zoom call (if desired) once everything’s sent back to you to help with brainstorming, ask questions, clarify, etc.
I charge $500 up front and the rest upon completion before the edited manuscript is returned.
Fee is $800 for up to 90k words, $900 for 91k-100k, $1400 for 101k-130k, $2000 for 130k-200k
